Spanish GP_Race - It was Vettel again!!

24/5/11,
Nothing can stop Sebastian Vettel.
The Champion of 2010 with the amazing car of Red Bull found him self in the first place of the podium, after a lot of pressure.

Alonso was placed in the first position in the first stint and received intense pressure from Hamilton in the end, without even having KERS in particular, but managed to reach his fourth win of the season and moved away even more in the league. With minimal difference of 6 tenths Lewis Hamilton took the second place while Jenson Button took advantage of the excellent strategic of one less pit stop to take the third position in the podium. In the fourth position finished Mark Webber, who failed to capitalize on pole position while Fernando Alonso, despite the great start did not manage to follow the pace and finished only in the fifth position. Michael Schumacher beat this time Nico Rosberg and took the sixth position, leaving the other driver of the Mercedes in seventh. Nick Heidfeld with Renault did an excellent race and finished eighth while he started from last position and the top 10 was closed by the Sauber of Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi.
The opening round of the pit stop started very early, with Pastor Maldonado entering in the ninth round. In the next followed Sebastian Vettel, in the 11th entered Alonso and Webber and in the 12th came the turn of Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. Jenson Button was held at the track until the 16th round. The lap after the pit stop as both Vettel and Mark Webber were particularly impressive, and proves the speed of Red Bull, passing every driver which they found in front of them. However, Fernando Alonso managed to keep on top and so after the completion of the first stops the ranking was Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton, Webber, Button, Schumacher, Rosberg, Petrov, Massa.

Sebastian Vettel seemed to be faster than Alonso but could not managed pass him in the track. He did, however, when he stopped for the second tire change in the 19th round. Alonso stopped in the 20th and when he returned in the track he found the RB7 of Vettel in front of him. With Vettel scoring the one fastest lap after another, the focus was on the battle given by Alonso and Hamilton for the second position. The British came into the pits in the 23rd lap and managed to get in front of the Spanish driver.

The first four were in a strategy of doing 4 pit stop after the second stop the order was: Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, Webber, with Jenson Button in fifth position, but who would make a pit stop less than the first, like Schumacher and Rosberg to follow. Inside the Top 10 were Petrov and Buemi, ahead of Massa, while the mini surprise at that point the race was the 14th of Jarno Trulli with Lotus.

In the top of the rankings Lewis Hamilton came closer to Sebastian Vettel and the two of them constantly were moving away from Fernando Alonso, who was trying to keep Mark Webber behind him. The two have another battle when the 29th round came at the same time to change tires. Both put the hard compound and in the output they were very close, with Alonso slightly ahead, something which helped him to keep in that point the third position. In the next round Button got into to change tires and refuel, putting back the soft tires.

The pressing of Mark Webber became more intense as it was evident that the Australian with hard tires could move much faster than Alonso. The two have many battles but a few laps later they were reached by Button, who with the fresh soft tire was 3 seconds per lap faster. In the 36th round the ''winged'' Button passed successively Webber and Alonso to climb into the fourth position.

The solution of the battle was in the usage of the compound. On the 40th lap Alonso came for the fourth time in the pit and put back the hard tires in order to get with them until the end. Webber continued for several laps in order to make his last stint with soft tires. But this was not the only battle in the track. The two Mercedes drivers were stuck behind each other, with Michael Schumacher ahead of Nico Rosberg, however, with these positions being not changed after the third and final pit stop.

In the last laps of the race a battle like only ones of the the top can give were held. Lewis Hamilton was stuck in the diffuser of the RB7 of Sebastian Vettel looking for a way to pass while Sebastian Vettel led marginally without making mistakes and managed to stay ahead. Unlike Vettel, Massa did not managed to defend the attack of Perez and Heidfeld. And the two went to get the eighth and ninth position respectively, dropping him in the 10th position .The worst, however, had not come yet for the Brazilian, who left just below the time that Heidfeld, who started last, was overtaking Perez getting into the eighth position. Te abandon of Massa brought into the Top 10 Kamui Kobayashi, who in the first lap of the race had an unplanned pit stop.

Hamilton did not abandon the effort until the end but failed to pass the unmistakable Vettel, who celebrated the fourth year's fair victory. McLaren should be relatively pleased with both drivers on the podium as Button finished in the third position behind Hamilton. Mark Webber although he started from the pole position did not managed anything better than the 4th position while Alonso took advantage of the full potential of the car of Ferrari and finished just fifth, almost 1 lap behind the winner. The Top 10 was completed by Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Nick Heidfeld, Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi.
