"Obviously I do not think that even to abandon the title race after only five races. The difference in score is great but anything can happen. I believe it yet, "said Alonso in the wake of the Grand Prix in Spain.

Michael Schumacher beat this time Nico Rosberg and took the sixth position, leaving the other driver of the Mercedes in seventh. Hamilton loses ground after failing passing Webber!!

10/5/11,
The failure on passing Webber in the first lap cost to Hamilton 2 positions!!
Lewis Hamilton regrets his failed passing attempt on Mark Webber on the first lap which cost him two positions.

Speaking after the race he said: “I really lost quite a lot of ground at the beginning of the race when I tried to go down the outside of Webber. I had such great pace. “In actual fact, I had too much front wing in the car to start off with. It was one of the reasons you struggle to look after the rear tyres, it’s better to drive a car with more understeer and I had a bit too much front end. “Obviously I was trying to get past Jenson, I had so much pace at the time, and once I did get past him my tyres were finished, so that forced me into a four-stopper – I don’t even know, how many stops did I do? Five? Four? “Considering we had a bad pit stop as well, I think we did a pretty good job to get back up to fourth.”

Horner: We are not invincible!!

10/5/11,
The technical director of Red Bull is not swept by the three wins in four races.
Despite the impressive start to the season, Christian Horner still keeps low tones. Or at least he is trying, since the team has achieved with Sebastian Vettel who had already won three races and four pole positions in four Grand Prix, this is not that easy.

"Things can change very quickly. Fernando Alonso made our job more difficult in Turkey and although no one else moved in the vicinity of pace, two or three weeks we were close to McLaren and more after we saw Mercedes to take steps forward. We can not afford to be complacent. We must keep our head bowed, trying to optimize our package and continue to learn to get the most out of our car. This was the 18th victory of our two and a half years, so we have already gained some experience in this field, "said the technical director of the group of Milton-Keynes.

Alonso: Rosberg cost us to the victory!!

10/5/11,
The Spanish driver talks about the reason which probably cost them not to have a better result!!
The driver of Ferrari, Fernando Alonso said that he might have been able to challenge Sebastian Vettel for a victory if he had not got stuck behind Nico Rosberg at the start of the race.

Alonso said: “We lost a little bit of time behind Rosberg at the beginning of the race. So we [didn't] thought any more the possibility to fight with Sebastian for P1, we concentrate on P2. “I had a little bit of advantage, in terms of tyre degradation, in that part of the race compared to Mark. As Mark said we used the DRS and I was able to overtake him. “And then in the last part of the race it was more or less the opposite. We had maybe a little bit of a disadvantage with tire age, we lost the position again.”

DRS will be allowed in Monaco!!

10/5/11,
FIA did not ban the usage of DRS in Monaco!!
FIA decided not to ban the use of DRS in Monaco. The Petrov's attempt to stay ahead of Heidfeld was no needed, as the had a contact and after that the German driver lost another position. So the fights in Turkey continued, which seems to hit team-mate (see Vettel - Webber last year).
Heidfeld talked to BBC about the incident: "Yes, this is not good. It had to happen. Pushed me and eventually had intercourse. It is safe to do so. "

Vettel: We did not need to do 4 pit stops!!

8/5/11,
Sebastian Vettel talked about the 4 pit stops strategy!!
Sebastian Vettel said that he didn't need to make a fourth pit stop on his way to dominating the Istanbul GP.

Speaking after the end of the race he said: “It wasn't easy from the start to know what what was going to happen. “Of course you have a rough idea about tires and how long they will last but you really have to wait for the first and maybe second stint to see this is the trend, this is where we’re going. “In the end I think I could have afforded to stay out on my first set of primes but you have to be in a position for whatever comes. I thought, at that time, I could have made it easily to chequered flag. “But then, if something happens, if there’s an accident elsewhere and the safety car comes out, then obviously you’re on used tyres so I think it was the right thing to come in another time even though it was just a very short stint after the stop.”

Turkish GP (Race) - ''Yes, that's what I'm talking about''

8/5/11,
Sebastian Vettel dominated the Turkish Grand Prix, with his team mate in second and Fernando Alonso in third!!
The 4th race of the year ended to confirm two things: That the car of Red Bull in the hands of Sebastian Vettel is a car in a different level than the other ones, and that changes in regulations have clearly changed to the better performances in Formula 1. Once again we have seen amazing battles, and dozens of overtakings and wheel to wheel battles. Mark Webber seemed to make things difficult for the Red Bull but eventually managed a few laps before the checkered flag to pass Fernando Alonso and climbed up to the second position of the podium. In fourth position was placed Lewis Hamilton, who gave many battles although he had bad luck behind him and Nico Rosberg proved that Mercedes has improved. Button, Heidfeld, Buemi and Petrov.

The others tried to improve but seeing that they had not any hope to catch the timing of RB7, tried to preserve the tires in the face of the race. Jenson Button gave an interview to Autosport in which he was clear about his future ambitions: "When I will stop driving for this group I would not be standing anymore in Formula 1. I am very happy here. I want to enjoy the races and I really have a great time here. I see no other reason to go elsewhere. I drive for one of the best teams in the world. It is a position that most drivers would like to found and I worked very hard for this. I can stay for another 3 or 5 more years ... I do not know. "
