27/2/11,
Williams were prepared to boycott the Bahrain Grant Prix!!
The decision of the cancellation of the race in Bahrain on March 13 was inevitable under the circumstances that have shaped the small state of the Persian Gulf, but even if the race wasn't cancelled, it is doubtful if all the teams would have gone to Bahrain. The leading director of Williams, Adam Parr, stated directly that if the race would have be done normally, the team would not have entered the plane and fly to Bahrain.
"The decision of the Crown Prince was right and for whatever reason if the race was going to be done normally we would't go there and I imagine that this will have done by the all teams. It was obvious to everyone that we will just make the situation worse, because we would attract the focus of demonstrations and cause turbulence. The Media which related to us would probably be there, so all this would be incendiary, "Parr said to Autosport.
The head director of Williams also said that although everyone in Formula 1 is trying to find a new date for the race, but it will be difficult: "We are all trying very hard to reattach the race on the calendar but I'm not sure about the weather. Obviously, the summer months are excluded, the program is very busy with the remote races. Everybody tries to find a new date, providing of course that the situation there will be calm, but I'm sure it can be found. "
