While the state of health of Robert Kubica is satisfaying, the co-driver, Jakub Gerber, gave a full description of the accident. They both was in the bucket a Skoda Fabia S2000 at the Rally of Ronde di Andora, with the development of pretty much we all know now. What we do not know exactly is what happened and co-driver of Robert illuminates the unfortunate moments.
"We knew that the road was slippery due to the humidity and we were prepared. After Robert lost control of the car we fell into the barrier and pushed outward, then we fell over the next barrier. It pierced the car and stabbed it. I understood immediately that things were serious and Robert had a large bruise under his eye after being hit in the face of the rudder. Kubica fainted while I went out the window because my door was stuck. The ambulance came shortly after the accident so did the firefighters. It took half an hour to take him.The first workshop didn't had the equipment which was needed to cut the barrier and therefore we had to wait for another crew to come. Also the helicopter could not land at this point so Robert needed to be transported with the result of loosing significant time, "Gerber told to the newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
As is easily understood, the cause of evil was the misplacement of this barrier at that point. One option which was criticized by Gerber.
"The gap between the two barrier had absolutely no sense. But we also should not run with racing cars which have so little protection in front. It is not the first time we face such an accident and I think the world federation should reconsider again the issue of safety within the cockpit, "said Gerber.
But the sights were not the only responsible people for the dangerous spots and the unscrupulous opponents with the exception of the crew which came shortly after the accident, the other crews continued, rather than rushing to help.
"I tried to stop the next car because I noticed that, Robert was trapped and beaten., but the other cars didn't stop but just continuing their race, complicating our efforts, "protested Gerber.
Sensational is the description of Mauro Moreno, the driver who passed the spot a minute after the accident whose reaction was recorded and published in a previous article.
"The picture was terrible. I shouted the name of Robert a couple of times but received no answer. I could see the barrier that had penetrated the car, and the front passenger waved to me that he had no problems and I tried to ask myself for Robert. There was no sense though, because he was semi-unconscious and couldn't speak, described the Italian.
