Schumacher: It was not an attempt to impress!!

Sensation was led after the achievement of the second day of testing at Jerez by Michael Schumacher. The seven times world champion for the first time managed to bring smiles to the camp of Mercedes because so far after five days in the previous tests (4 in 1 in Valencia and Jerez), the W02 was attracted the public's  attention only with its problems. However, the 42th year-old insisted that the time he placed at the top of the ranking was not an attempt to impress with very low fuel load. He admitted however, that he took place in that stint using the very soft tires of Pirelli. 

"And the first two days we were focused of testing long distances. But today (s.s.yesterday) we tried the very soft compound tires. Obviously this has helped us to move faster than others who didn't make a use of them. But we were not the only ones who made this choice. If I'm not mistaken, the fastest laps I came after a start of a stint of 10 rounds. I know that Nico did not have a good day, that the car was not functioning as it should. But I am sure that the last day of the tests when he will be in my position behind the wheel, he will be much happier. I'm not very concerned. I understand what is happening and I was not worried in Valencia, so I am not worried here. My day was good, we had credibility and that's important, "said the 42 year-old in the press conference. 

Today Schumacher continues the tests before handing the baton to Rosberg on the last day of testing at Jerez.
