The first part of the great battle that gives Robert Kubica is completed successfully. The Pole went through a 3rd and last surgery and is now ready to begin the second part of his long and difficult battle which includes rehabilitation.
Yesterday's surgery lasted eight hours and the Italian doctors worked on the elbow of the 26 year old driver. They focused on the stabilization and reconstruction and the result of their effort was successful.
"At the end of surgery, doctors were pleased with the outcome and the successful completion of their effort", said a notice of Lotus Renault GP.
Kubica will stay for several days in the intensive care unit of the Hospital Santa Corona and as it was announced, he will stay in Italy for his recovery period.
