Robert Kubica considers his self very lucky after the incident which could have probably cost him, his life. A thing which corresponds to the reality, but requires great fortitude for someone to accept in the situation in which is now the driver of the team Lotus Renault GP. After three hours of delicate surgery the 26 year old has started the match-up but he is aware that things could probably be much worse.
"I know I'm in good shape but I consider myself very lucky. I have in front of me a long and difficult recovery period but it does not matter for me, "said the Pole in the Italian newspaper La Stampa.
We don't know how long will his period of recuperation last but it certainly that he is not going to not going to drive any fast car in 2011.
"He aims to achieve the recovery effort and the journey will be surely very long. For a month yet, there is always the risk of infection. When a bone is exposed for 45 minutes, as it happened in this case, it is attacked by bacteria that must be fought with antibiotics, "said Antonino Massone, the head doctor of the Hospital Santa Corona in which Kubica stays.
Indeed, the manager of Poland, Daniele Morelli said that the 26 year old driver is a so good patient because he is a racing driver. And he explained why: "The doctors and the physiotherapists, look like to him as the engineers of Renault. They make the necessary adjustments and modifications, perfecting the car to the best possible result. "
