The auto industry holds the whole shares of Mercedes GP!!
A year ago Mercedes GP was created, following the acquisition by Daimler AG and partner , Aabar Investments PJS, of the majority of Brawn GP. Some shareholders of Brawn GP, including Ross Brawn and Nick Fry, maintained their share in the group.Specifically, along with Daimler Aabar which had the 75.1% and other partners in 24.9% of the team. So, in a move which was expected since last year, the two companies completely took under control the Mercedes GP, with Daimler to control 60% and 40% belonging to Aabar.
The CEO of Daimler AG, Dr Dieter Zeitsche, said that the move clearly indicates the intention of the company to remain in Formula 1: «The acquisition of the majority of Mercedes GP sends a clear message that we aim to get better to the technological and the sporting success in the largest and the most important motor sport - and that we intend to do this in a cost effective manner. "
Ross Brawn stays still the natural team leader and says optimistically: "This development is another step towards consolidating and strengthening the team. Formula 1 is a specialized industry and a privilege for us to have such strong partners as the Daimler and Aabar to stand by us. I will stay with the team for a long time. We are all looking forward to the challenge to make our team successful and complete the racing tradition of the 'Silver Arrows'.
