26/3/11,
The German driver with his Red Bull took an amazing pole position in Melbourne!!
Q1.
Sebastian Vettel was the fastest driver in the three parts of the qualifying season with 1.23.090 taking for the second year in a row the pole position in Melbourne. He will share the the front part of the grid with Lewis Hamilton who beat Mark Webber despite (Hamilton) losing the KERS during the race.
Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa used the soft type of tire so they could be able to continue through the Q2. Massa was positioned from the 18th to the 11th position.
The two cars of HRT managed to 11 laps each. But Tonio Liuzzi's lap time (1.32.978) was 1.7s slower than the 107% time with Narain Kartikeyan being even slower which means that they will not be able to race until they get a dispensation.
Both Virgin and Lotus lost their cars in the Q1.
