Brawn is expecting 3 pit stops!!

20/3/11,
Ross Brawn believes that the strategy of 3 pit stops would be the most popular choice!!
It is clear that the tires of Pirelli have changed many things including the driving style of the drivers but also for the numbers of pit stops that will be made. So the teams should surely select a wise strategi because the tire of Pirelli are wearing out easily than these of Bridgestone. We have even heard about 4 stops that will be needed to made but according to Ross Brawn the most sensible strategy would be about 3 pit stops.

"With these tires you can not afford to hold them up to advanced level of damage because their performance is dropped dramatically towards the end of their usage. So you do not want to get into this trap because you will miss much time. The ideal would be to set up the car and the drivers managing to drive targeting the best overall time after doing as little pit stop. I think most people would aim for races with 3 pit stop, because if you go into fourth, then logically it would be difficult to cover the lost time. Depends on the circuits because losses in the pit lane may be smaller, for example in Monaco. It depends on the circumstances, but if you match the simulation results which with four pit stop you may be faster, then you can use this strategy in a race, " Brawn said to Autosport.

Every driver would have 3 sets of slick tires from each available compound for the qualifying testing and the race
