A month ago, and while the first tests of the season for Formula 1 had started, the issue with Ford's action in the courts, against Ferrari for the name of the new car. Surely the Italians got enough publicity. Ford has for decades placed in U.S. a van with the same name and claimed that Ferrari can not use it. Ferrari's reaction was immediate and changed the name of the car in F150th Italia, to continue to comply with the original idea of celebrating 150 years of the unification of Italy.

This action allowed the Ferrari to continue the negotiations between the two companies in a better climate and the result was that Ford eventually to withdraw its application. The representative of Ford, Anne Marie Gattari, told the Detroit Free Press: «We are very pleased that this issue could be resolved amicably. This approach ensures that the famous and unique trademark F-150 will be protected. "
