Without HRT in the Australian GP!!

26/3/11,
The drivers of the team will not take part in the Sunday race!!
The return of the 107% rule has had its first victim..the team of HRT. In the qualifying tests in Australia the two drivers of HRT Tonio Liuzzi and Narain Kartikeyan did not manage to have the lap time which should be in the 107% of the fastest in the Q1 and as the rules say they will not take part in the race. The times of HRT are not a surprise as the team of HRT has come to Melbourne without doing even a kilometer.

As usual in such cases, the Spanish team asked FIA to make an exception and allowed them to race on Sunday, but this request was refused. The FIA's decision is reasonable as the difference between Liuzzi and Karthikeyan from the rest is chaotic. The Italian at the end of Q1 was 7.6 seconds behind Vettel while Karthikeyan 9 whole seconds. Obviously there are security risks to both slow cars on the track.
So, the racing premiere of F111 is postponed at least until the next race in Malaysia, provided of course that the times would have improved.
